Mobile Notary FAQ
Common questions about mobile notary signings
- Where will the notary travel to meet me?
- The notary is typically local to your area and will meet you at a location of your choosing — your home, office, a hotel, or another convenient public spot. Travel range depends on the signing service's network in your area; if you live somewhere especially remote, we'll let you know in advance whether an additional travel fee applies.
- What ID do I need to bring?
- Plan to present a current, unexpired government-issued photo ID — typically a driver's license, state ID card, U.S. passport, or military ID. The name on your ID must match the name on the closing documents. If you've recently changed your name, let us know before the signing so we can confirm what additional documentation may be needed.
- How is the appointment coordinated?
- Once your closing is scheduled, we send your signing request to an approved third-party signing service. They assign a vetted notary in your area, who will contact you directly to confirm the date, time, and meeting location. We send the closing package to the notary ahead of time, and after signing, the notary returns the executed documents to our office for recording and disbursement.
